A tribute album honoring the music of New Order,  CEREMONY: A New Order Tribute is a 32 Track Double CD Deluxe Digipack released February 20, 2010 to coincide with what would have been Tony Wilson's 60th Birthday. A portion of the proceeds from record sales will go to the Salford Foundation Trust’s Tony Wilson Award. Established in memory of the founding father of fiercely independent record label Factory Records, the trust will benefit children and young people who can demonstrate a special talent or ambition in the arts or creative skills. Even after losing Tony, his legacy continues to bring music into people's lives.  Since Ceremony will benefit talented young people, we included a version of "Ceremony" on the album performed by children to show an example of those who have the opportunity of music in their life. The band Yes But No is fronted by two sisters, ages 10 & 13, who both play guitar and sing.

This beautifully packaged album features contributions from artists representative of musical genres from Electronica to Indie Rock who have been influenced by New Order. Participants from across America and Europe include New Order/Joy Division bassist Peter Hook, Detachments, Rabbit In The Moon, John Ralston, Sunbears!, The Cloud Room, GD Luxxe, The Dark Romantics, Pocket, Light Yourself On Fire, XOXO, Kites With Lights and many more!

*  Peter Hook, bassist for New Order & Joy Division, has recorded a sonically enhanced spoken word dedication to Tony Wilson to introduce the record. Hooky, a patron of the charity said "To see so many indie bands interested in replicating the work of New Order as a tribute to Tony and to help raise funds for Salford Foundation Trust so that it can continue its fine work with young people is just fantastic. Through the Trust’s Tony Wilson Award, young people can access grants that can help them to pursue music, drama, dance and the creative arts.”

*  Includes rare archival photos of New Order by rockstar photographer Kevin Cummins plus one of the last images of Tony Wilson before he announced his illness, taken by Katja Ruge.

*  Two more collections of songs will be available as Digital Albums released in support of this package: Ceremony - The Digital Album, 16 additional covers that do not appear on the 2 CD set & Twelve Versions of Ceremony, comprised entirely of cover versions of New Order's first single.

From Peter Collins, Chief Executive of the Trust:
“We are extremely grateful to 24 Hour Service Station for donating some of the proceeds from this disc to the Trust which seeks to help young people in Salford to attain their personal goals and aspirations. Not only is this a fitting tribute to the memory of Tony Wilson but it provides extra support for young people in a way that Tony would have applauded.”

Salford Foundation Trust, which was set up in 2004, has given financial assistance to over 200 young people who wish to develop their skills and talents in a variety of ways.

Small grants are given to purchase a musical instrument, dance or drama classes, sports equipment or to help young entrepreneurs with their business. A special Tony Wilson Award category was established in memory of the Salford-born broadcaster who spent time with and expressed support for the Trust. This award focuses particularly on the performing arts.
