A double CD deluxe Digipack and 25 track Digital Album of New Order covers will be released February 20th, 2010 to honor what would have been Tony Wilson's 60th Birthday.

Peter Hook, legendary bassist for New Order, Joy Division, Revenge, Monaco and now Freebass, performed with London band DETACHMENTS at a children's charity event hosted by The Salford Foundation Trust. The group played a vibrant version of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division at a benefit luncheon on Friday November 27th. DETACHMENTS will have two New Order covers featured on the album Ceremony - A New Order Tribute to be released February 20th 2010 by 24 Hour Service Station. A portion of proceeds from the sale of the album will benefit the Tony Wilson Award - a  grant program established by The Salford Foundation Trust in memory of the Factory Records and Haçienda night club founder.

Mark Burgess (Chameleons UK, The Sun and the Moon, Black Swan Lane) fancied the idea of what POCKET was doing with his Singles EP series so much, that he contributed two tracks to this record, “A Force Of Nature” & “Heaven.” The A-side pulses, throbs and chugs with Burgess' melodic lyrics raising the pressure to a glorious conclusion, while the B-side, again sung by Burgess, recalls the best moments of 80's vanguards The Psychedelic Furs. The single includes remixes from Dub Gabriel & Kites With Lights along with a reworking of the title track by Elk City, and is available on iTunes, emusic, Rhapsody, Amazon, and every other digital service.

Kites With Lights, grace us with an original electro-pop Christmas song. With a sound reminiscent of "A Wonderful Christmas Time" by Paul McCartney, this is a Holiday song for every day, especially those outside of the Yuletide season. The B-side of the single is an instrumental version, loaded with jingle bells and holiday joy.

The tenets of the Advanced Theory are clear. The genius of Advanced artists has evolved past the point of ordinary people’s understanding. Advanced artists wear sunglasses indoors. They favor leather jackets. They insist on putting their pictures on the covers of their albums. And when they make ostensibly baffling decisions or pronouncements (often involving musical theater), it is not a joke. Except when it is an Advanced joke, and we don’t have room to get into that here.

Dave Smalley is the most Advanced man to come out of the ’80s hardcore scene.
